VOLKSWAGEN'S Tiguan HyMotion is the fourth generation fuel cell in development by Volkswagen. This vehicle is based on the very successful Tiguan SUV sold in Europe but recently introduced in the United States. This generation contains improvements over Volkswagens previous hydrogen powered vehicles in several areas such as increased hydrogen storage pressure (700bar) and driving range. On the long road towards implementing a fuel cell, Volkswagen is pursuing a multi-layered drive and fuel strategy to achieve further progress in ensuring mobility and reducing consumption and emissions in the short and medium term.
