9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (PDT) H2FIRST: Hydrogen Fueling Infrastructure Research and Station Technology—Hosted by Sandia National Laboratories and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
The large footprint of hydrogen fueling stations (HFS) hinders their installation in urban areas where space is limited. Large separation distances also affect stations that use gaseous hydrogen (delivered or produced on-site) and are particularly onerous for stations that use delivered liquid hydrogen (LH2). Unfortunately, these requirements have a large impact on HFS rollout because LH2-supplied stations may be the most cost-effective HFS solution to meet high throughput associated with deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles in urban centers.
