FRIDAY, MAY 6. The South Coast AQMD’s Science and Technology Advancement (STA) is entering its 34th year and serves a unique function within the agency by working with technology providers and original equipment manufacturers to develop, demonstrate and deploy pre-commercial zero emission and near-zero  emission technologies needed to reduce NOx emissions for implementation of the Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP). STA includes two groups--Technology Advance Office (TAO) and Monitoring and Analysis Division (MAD).

Before and following the Board meeting (starts at 9am), Board members, SCAQMD staff and members of the public are invited to see and “kick the tires” on the prototype/commercial trucks as well as other ongoing STA activities located in the parking lot adjacent to the auditorium. The vehicles/booths in our showcase have been funded, developed and demonstrated through a variety of STA projects.
