Job Title:Technology Manager

Location: Washington D.C.

Description: The Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) is seeking a highly skilled Technology Manager to support the Technology Acceleration subprogram, with a focus on hydrogen and fuel cells for Transportation applications.  This role would involve managing a portfolio of projects related to the development and demonstration of medium and heavy-duty fuel cell electric transportation applications including medium and heavy-duty trucks, marine, rail, and other transportation applications to support the President’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.  An ideal candidate would possess direct experience related to hydrogen fuel cell transportation component development and vehicle integration (e.g., fuel cell stacks, onboard hydrogen storage, thermal integration, fuel cell / battery hybridization, power electronics, etc.).  Further, offboard experience related to hydrogen fueling infrastructure or relevant safety, codes, and standards is also desired.  In addition to managing a portfolio of fuel cell electric transportation development and demonstration projects, the candidate would help set the DOE vision with respect to fuel cell electric transportation, develop solicitations and select new projects, and coordinate closely with industry and other government branches through the 21st Century Truck Partnership, SuperTruck program, and Mission Innovation – Zero Emission Shipping, among others.  The applicant should be an expert in the field, have strong written and oral communication, and be highly effective and engaging in public settings such as presentations and public forums.  Applicants must be U.S. citizens and would be expected to be physically located in Washington D.C.
